Dog High-Jump

The highlight of our visit to the Moruya Show was the dog high-jump. There was a low jump for little dogs, but the real stars faced a timber wall that grew higher after each round. The dogs ran up to the wall, leapt up, reaching for the top with their front legs, then gracefully or not, scrabbled over, to be caught and lowered into the bed of a good old Aussie ute, from which they could easily jump down to the ground again. First you might like to see the very short video made by Fiona, my talented d-i-l !!!

We were all thrilled that Jip and Kate tied for first place, with both dogs failing the same height. As the dog owners relaxed the clowns came out … the Crackup Sisters, with one playing the part of a reluctant dog, eventually making it over the jump on her third try!

More pics from the Show tomorrow! Did you like the dogs? or the clowns?

  1. Dog jump I have not seen before. We have dog run and jump into the lake and see how far they can fly in the air 🙂
