Plaza de Espana Fountain

In the lovely old Spanish towns we have visited there is usually the sound of water …. splashing, trickling, bubbling … cooling the air and the mind.

Not surprising that fish and frogs are popular themes! Here we seem to have Neptune too ….

and cherubs, with typically bright Andalusian tiles …

and lanterns for lighting the dark …

from where we were sitting last night watching a fabulous display of cloud and light at sunset …. it gradually became darker, until the lights suddenly came on, creating a festive atmosphere!

A cool wind meant I was glad to sit by the fire, but after watching two charming men taking portraits of each other by the lights of the fountain I thought we should not be outdone …

    • yes, really fresh, and such a unique flavour … i guess because we are used to Australian olive oil … we are enjoying it all but suffering lack of vegetables … it is all fish and cheese with salads …. next week we have an apartment in Seville so we will shop and cater for ourselves πŸ™‚

  2. I love the photo of the two of you, Christine, but I really love the photo of you enjoying a seat by that gorgeous fountain. I want a frog like that for my backyard. πŸ™‚ Gorgeous!
