One of the unique places we visited along the Gibb River Road in The Kimberley, was Ellenbrae Station. This remote cattle property offers camping accommodation to travellers, but is better know for its tasty Devonshire Tea. We camped over night, loving the feeling of a green oasis after a few days on the road.
This may be a unique bathroom, built into the side of a huge boab tree in the shelter of the homestead. Ingenuity was obvious in all the campground facilities too. When you are so far from civilisation you make do with whatever is the hand. At Ellenbrae it was all done with artistic flair, a pleasing collation of old corrugated iron, stone, bush plumbing and trees.
