Fresh Nectar

sundewThis sundew is glistening with nectar, which is very attractive to the insects on which the plant feeds. The Drosera petiolaris-group sundews are found in northern Australia in a region with very high rainfall and temperatures in the summer and low rainfall but still hot temperatures in the winter. We found a large group of sundews on the sand around a pool below Wunnamurra Falls on Mount Elizabeth Station in the Kimberley. You might like to see a close up! closeup
