Story Challenge: O is for Orchids

This week’s challenge from Frizztext is the letter O, which brings to mind the orchids we saw in Singapore last week. There are fabulous new gardens in Singapore, the billion dollar Gardens by the Bay, which are quite incredible. However the older Singapore Botanic Gardens has a wonderful orchid collection, billed as the largest tropical orchid collection in the world, so my photos are from both places. We were there on the homeward leg of our long trip, taking it easy, enjoying the warmth after Europe, tasting the food and taking in some of the beautiful sights.

  1. Breathtaking! I love the last green and white one, and remember seeing the golden yellow variety in KL. The Gardens by the Bay didn’t really cost a billion dollars did they?

    • thanks doug, it was such a treat, shame i only had my little ixus with me, but i chose it to travel with as it is so small and light …. some of the macros did not work, but others are fine 🙂

  2. Gorgeous, gorgeous! I wonder how many varieties there are and if they have them all in one place! Thank you for all the uplifting photos!
