Perigord Vert

Yesterday was sunny, we were tempted to take a daytrip to Brantome, where a beautiful village clusters against an old Abbey, along picturesque canals. Lunchtime restaurants were busy, people relaxing with food and wine in the convivial atmosphere.

Stuart sat in the shade by the bridge drawing happily, our son and his wife enjoying the waterbirds, everyone really relaxed!

Quite late in the afternoon we drove along to visit the Chateau at Bourdeilles, where the remains of medieval tower and keep have the added glory of a renaissance chateau, furnished with an extraordinary antique furniture collection.

Now it really feels like we are on holidays!
