Jacky Winter

Seen this morning, at neighbouring Meringo, where there is more open ground! Jacky Winter is a small flycatcher who likes to sit on a perch, dashing out with graceful twisting movements to capture flying insects. He is easy to photograph, sitting on a post or fence wire, singing ‘peter peter’ and turning his head in all directions to spot the next meal. We saw probably three different birds enjoying the morning sunshine.

  1. Reminds me of the swallows here, they will pose like that and even allow you to walk up on them. Beautiful photos.
