Eight White-faced Herons flew over to check out the dams, and amazingly decided to take a better look. As I watched, alerted by their gravelly voices, they landed elegantly in an old casuarina beside the house. Such tall and graceful birds looked distinctly out of place balanced on the small twiggy branches. They stayed for a few minutes and by mutual agreement took off for somewhere more suitable to roost!
See many blue herons here in Miami
i think our climate might be like yours carl … the birds all like it!
How unusual to see a group of Herons – usually only see one at a time. Your antennae is so finely tuned you know just when to grab camera and run!
you know, i heard a strange sound, i poked my head out to see what it was and lo! eight herons coming to visit!!! the world is wonderful 🙂
Oh wow Christine! They are absolutely gorgeous! Stunning shots hon! 🙂
*hugs*
thanks sonel, looking forward to more birds from you 🙂
Gosh 8 at once! and they left ‘by mutual agreement’ sounds like a good decision much as they are beautiful!
it was a rare sight, and yes, i did not think there was enough room for them all here, lol!
Stunning!!!
Great slide show. Beautiful photographs.
Gorgeous photos! It’s amazing that the small twiggy branches didn’t snap off underneath the beautiful herons.
Beautiful captures of beautiful birds. 🙂
thank you robin, i wondered if people were tired of the birds yet!
