Easter Monday Morning

Easter Monday morning: woke up just before our overnight guest, the two year old grandchild. Tiptoed out to make ginger tea and sneak a look at the computer. Soon she was awake for cuddles all round, then stories, and making pancakes for breakfast! I snapped a few honeyeaters feeding in the Silver Princess

while Edwina and Stuart sifted flour, whipped eggs and carefully folded the mixture.

I warmed some blueberries and nectarines frozen in the summer, got out our yoghurts and maple syrup, and waited for delicate fluffy pancakes to arrive on the table. The first plateful disappeared before I thought to pick up the camera, so here is Eddy with the remains of the fourth pancake …YUM!

Then her parents arrived, and after they assisted with pancake and coffee consumption we went to the beach for a quick swim.

  4. Just one beautiful, fun, happy and bright day. It’s wonderful to share a perfect day with family and friends. The memories will always bring a smile to our heart. Happy Easter…

  5. Although you are on the other side of the world, it all looks very familiar. Coming into spring and summer, it is my favourite time of year. Unfortunately our summers are much shorter and far more unpredictable. It looked like a very special day.

    • good to hear from you sue, april is our best time of year here, the warm sea, the slightly cooler autumn days, great light for painting …. if you ever come over try april!
