Orchard Swallowtail Butterflies

In this warm weather just before winter the birds and butterflies are very busy. The huge Orchard Swallowtail butterflies have been fluttering around the garden, looking for convenient mating spots. I managed to capture some very poor images yesterday, but one that shows the female settling for a moment and the male close behind her. Notice the female is larger and has blue crescents above the orange on her wings. Just now I found a female feeding on the pawpaw flowers adjacent to our terrace, and was lucky to catch her with her proboscis in a flower, sucking up the nectar. Enjoy the images of this incredibly beautiful butterfly!
