It is a while since I updated the Dusky Moorhen status, but I was waiting to see if the missing adult returned with young. So far she has not. The three remaining birds survive, but the smaller chick has been bitten at the top of the left leg. I can see a contusion, and there seem to be missing feathers around the leg. This happened about three days ago. I discovered the chick crying loudly and trying to hop on one leg through the reeds to catch up with the adult and the other juvenile. Of course it kept falling and crying piteously!
It obviously needed to rest the leg, so I was worried that is could not eat enough, but had no way of helping to feed it. I did a little distant healing, sending energy to the chick and seeing the leg healed. Since all life is energy I had confidence I could help a little. Now other distant healers and prayers can join me, since the plucky bird has survived and is healing up. Now it can put the foot down, but does not weight bear yet.

Amazing that you could focus so well on the injured one. The mother hen looks calm enough.
I was glad to see them again. I hope the other adult is okay. If a thought can send energy, I can surely do that!
thanks barb, all positive thoughts very welcome 🙂
It’s hard seeing creatures suffer but it looks like a fighter I’ll send some positive Ki to try to help, thanks to your photos I can visualize its home!
